Responsibilities and Qualifications

As Administrator/CEO of Holdenville General Hospital leads the organization in fulfilling the strategic plan and formulating specific goals, objectives and operating policies. Works in conjunction with Rural Healthcare Division of Mercy Health System Oklahoma and Mercy Hospital Ada to develop new product lines and improve existing patient services. Manages all Administrative duties of the CEO and serves as liaison to the Medical Staff, works closely with the Holdenville General Hospital Board, all department managers, local city government and local civic clubs. Responsible for the completion and certification of all audits, cost reports, and state health department and Critical Access Hospital Conditions of participation. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

  1. Works closely with department managers to ensure that all required programs are in place. Directs the Safety/Risk management/Infection control programs through the Multi-disciplinary Committees.

  2. Work with Mercy Hospital Ada and Recruiting identifying and locating Physician candidates for the facility.

  3. Will direct the Quality Management Plan through the Quality Improvement committee that maintains a Physician presence on the committee.

  4. Seek to improve processes throughout the hospital. Strive to improve patient quality outcomes that will allow Holdenville General Hospital to become the hospital of choice for the communities served.

  5. Maintain a Peer Review process to objectively review the medical practices of Holdenville General Hospital, bringing in outside Physicians as needed to give additional input and direction to chart audits.

  6. Maintains a local Ministerial Alliance Committee for clergy of Holdenville, Oklahoma that will be lead and coordinated by Holdenville General Hospital.

  7. Develop Policies and Procedures that are specific to Holdenville General Hospital, to incorporate the goals, vision and values of HGH.

  8. Maintain compliance with Conditions of Participation for Critical Access Hospitals. Maintain CLIA accreditation status in Laboratory and comply with all Radiologic regulations. Maintain Hospital Licensure.

  9. Work closely with the Emergency Preparedness Division of the State, and the Regional Medical Response System, and the MERCY (Medical Emergency Resource Center), to maintain state of readiness for any emergency responses.

  10. Attend bi-monthly required meetings and obtain required annual training and participate in required drills. Obtain funding for supplies, equipment that will benefit the facility in an emergency situation.

  11. Provide accurate, succinct and pertinent operational and financial data to the Holdenville General Hospital board on a monthly basis, including information on Risk Management/Safety, Finances, Physician Recruitment, Medical Staff reports, Administrative reports, and local Quality initiatives.

  12. Work on strategic issues/projects developed by the Hospital Board that would include developing new programs, writing grants for equipment/capital items

  13. Pursue equipment/technology upgrades and interfaces where appropriate and as funding allows.

  14. Promote financial assistance and other programs beneficial for the community. Proactively help co-workers access the employee assistance program.

Education: MHA/MBA/MS in hospital administration or related field

Experience: Five years’ experience in Hospital Administration/Operations. Critical Access Hospital operations experience preferred.

Other: Knowledge of billing systems, financial accounting and GAAP, accounts receivable, accounts payable, patient Accounting, charge master, supply inventory and Ordering, co-worker evaluation programs.
